Wilson, Kori
Professional Biography
I have had the privilege of teaching at every grade level—from preschool through high school—and this is my sixth year at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary. I feel fortunate to work alongside such dedicated colleagues in this wonderful community. Teaching first grade is truly a joy, as I love nurturing students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
I earned my B.A. in French and History, along with my Secondary Education (6th–12th grade) teaching degree, from Seattle Pacific University in 2005. A few years later, I expanded my certification to include Kindergarten–8th grade. In 2022, I completed a Master’s in Literacy from Eastern Washington University and became endorsed as a Reading Specialist.
Every day at Peter G. reminds me why I love teaching—our students’ eagerness to learn inspires me constantly.
Personal Biography
I grew up in Olympia, WA, and graduated from Capital High School in 2000. My husband, Matt, and I met in Seattle, and we have been married for 20 years. Together, we have two wonderful daughters.
As a family, we enjoy camping, hiking, and spending time with our pets: Daisy, our 9-year-old yellow lab; Piper, our 2-year-old golden retriever; Angus, our 7-year-old brown tabby; and Malcolm, our newest addition, an adventurous orange kitten. This year, we also welcomed seven ducks into our lives, adding even more fun and excitement to our household adventures.
