Professional Biography
My name is Kelly Merslich and I love teaching 2nd grade at Peter G. Schmidt! I have a degree from Central Washington University in Public Relations but found my passion for teaching back in 2011 and switched careers. I received my Master's Degree from PLU in teaching- Go Lutes! I taught abroad in Busan, South Korea and Shanghai, China before coming to Peter G. Schmidt to teach 2nd grade and I absolutely love working here.
I grew up in West Olympia. I have a son named Mercer who was born back in 2016. I love to have fun outside, cook delicious meals, spend time with family, and bargain hunt for things at the Goodwill!
I enjoy connecting with each student and getting to know them and their families. We like to have fun, learn a lot, and instill a sense of responsibility and independence in my classroom.
